                                          HOW TO BOOK   APPOINTMENTS                 


Non Urgent GP Appointments

Almost half of our GP appointments are available to book on the day, every day.   All our GP’s have appointments slots that can be booked in this way, giving you the choice of who you would like to see.

 We are still offering routine GP appointment slots bookable up to 3 weeks in advance.


GP Call - Back System   (Telephone consultations - GP advice)


One of our doctors is on-call every day and they manage calls from patients who feel their clinical problems cannot wait for a routine appointment. Patients can call the surgery up to 11.30 am to engage with this service.   The doctor will call these patients back, and together they will make a decision about whether a face to face consultation is necessary.   If it is, then patients can see the doctor that day.

If you would simply like advice or talk to a doctor, you can book a telephone

appointment with one of our GP team - this type of appointment is also available every day.


 Patient Partner - Automated Telephone Booking System

You can book a routine GP appointment when the Surgery is closed, simply select option 1 when you call our main number, and you will be re-directed to an automated reservation system that will let you select which GP you would like to book on their next available appointment. You can also cancel and rearrange appointments as necessary. Please note that this is only for
“Single, Routine & Non Urgent” appointments, and does not include any nursing care, so if you need something more specialised please speak to a receptionist as usual.


 Patient Access ( Online Appointment Booking System )


Patients can now register online to save themselves time.

PATIENT ACCESS will enable you to set up a personal account which will create a secure and dedicated login for you to access our clinical system. You will be able to see repeat prescriptions and select them for re-order and to make online appointment bookings with our doctors. We hope to expand this to cover other areas of access in the future. 

Registration for Patient Access

As you can appreciate the registration process has to be carefully monitored and authorised by us, to ensure that your personal medical information can only be accessed by you. To register you will need to come into the Surgery with the documents below to confirm your identity.
 Photo Identification    -    Passport or Driving Licence
Address Confirmation -  We only except Bank Statement or Council Tax Bill
 We can generate a REGISTRATION OFFER LETTER which will detail your login username and password only after confirming your identity. 
Once you are in possession of this letter you can easily set up the account from home (any internet connection) by following the simple instructions.


Routine Appointments

Bookings will still be available as usual, up to 3 weeks in advance. We are attempting to ensure that you will be able to make a routine non-urgent appointment with a GP within 5 working days, but you must appreciate that demands upon our services are not always regular, and sometimes, no matter how we structure our appointment systems, there may be a slightly longer wait.   We will continue to carefully monitor this on a daily basis and will increase/decrease the number of advance appointments we offer accordingly.  

Please note : The surgery no longer takes incoming telephone calls between 12.30 and 1.30 pm as our Receptionists require this time to prepare for afternoon surgeries.   However, the Practice is NOT CLOSED and you can call in to see us if you would like.  


Early and Late Appointments : We do provide early and late appointments on Tuesdays when we are open from 7.30am until 7.30pm.   We also have an early clinic on Thursday morning from 7.30am and we are open every Saturday morning between 8.30am and 12 noon.


We do not enjoy keeping you waiting any longer than we have to, so we would ask that you :


  • Book separate appointments for each member of your family
  • Remember that your appointment is only 10 minutes – if you have more than one or two issues to discuss, let Reception know in advance so that they can book a longer appointment. 
  • Please tell us if you cannot make your appointment – it is such a shame when it is wasted, and we cannot offer it to another patient.   At the moment we lose over 5 hours clinical time per week through missed consultations !
  • Please be aware if you arrive late for your appointment you will not be seen that day and will need to re schedule.
