Prescriptions are available 48 hours after the request has been received.
They can be requested in the following ways:
- In person at reception
- Via your local pharmacy
- Via fax
- Online using our clinical system website “Emis Patient Access” (please contact a member of the Patient Liaison team if not already registered for use of this service or see below)
We have decided not to transmit sensitive patient madication information by unsecured email ( NHS emails are protected with high security system ).We do also believe that taking instruction from you in this way can lead to mistakes and misunderstanding with regards to the drugs requested, the dosage and frequency.
Your doctor will inform you if you are on medication which is suitable for dispensing by Batch Prescribing.
Enrolling in this system will enable you to collect your regular prescriptions from a pharmacy of your choice without the need to come to the surgery. Please speak to a member of the Patient Liaison team for further information.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept telephone or email requests for prescriptions.
Please be aware that not all prescriptions issued by private consultants are available on the NHS. You should discuss with your consultant to avoid having to pay for private prescriptions. Our GP’s can issue prescriptions from private consultants provided that the items required are NHS approved.
Order Your Repeat Prescription Online

This service is called PATIENT ACCESS. You will initially have to create your own personal account with a dedicated and secure login. This will enable you to login to our clinical system. You will be able to see your repeat prescriptions and select them for re-order. You will also have the facility to make online routine GP appointments. We have now included access to your summary care record and other aspects of your medical notes.

Registering For Patient Access
As you can appreciate the registration process has to be carefully monitored and authorised by us, to ensure that your personal medical information can only be accessed by you. To register you will need to come into the Surgery with the documents below to confirm your identity.
Photo Identification - Passport or Driving Licence
Address Confirmation - We only accept Bank Statement or Council Tax Bill
We can generate a REGISTRATION OFFER LETTER which will detail your login username and password only after confirming your identity.
Once you are in possession of this letter you can easily set up the account from home (any internet connection) by following the simple instructions.
